Awards and Accreditations
To ensure that we have the best practice, we continually strive to achieve our best.
OFSTED INSPECTION
We were very proud when in January 2018 the school was graded as "Good" after our inspection. We are now moving towards Outstanding!
BASIC SKILLS AWARD
In Leys Junior School we have commitment to a continuing improvement in the basic skills of the children in this school.
HEALTHY SCHOOLS AWARD
PSHCE is a timetabled session used to discuss issues relating to relationships, citizenship and health. The children have an opportunity to have an input into Pupil Parliament meetings, which are held weekly. We also have school milk available to all children.
ARTS MARK
An Artsmark at any level shows that a school is committed to the wider development of young people and to ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts.
ECO SCHOOL
Children are the driving force behind Eco-Schools - they lead the eco-committee and help carry out an audit to assess the environment performance of their school. The school has been accredited the Bronze Award.
SCHOOL GAMES AWARD - GOLD
The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Participating in this process allows schools to evaluate their PE provision and assists them in developing an action plan for future progress.
ABC ANTI-BULLYING AWARD
This is a Derbyshire initiative which rewarded schools who show a commitment to reducing bullying in schools.
MODESHIFT STARS - THE NATIONAL SCHOOL TRAVEL AWARDS
Awarded to schools who demonstrate a commitment for their efforts to increase levels of walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable transport on the journey to and from school.
